Private Equity and Venture Capital Investing
Since 1981, ChinaVest has managed five private equity funds with more than 60 portfolio companies including add-on acquisitions in the manufacturing, communications and distribution industries. ChinaVest continues to invest its own pool of capital in discretionary opportunities as both a majority and minority shareholder. Some of the transaction structures used by ChinaVest in the past include: early-stage funding, expansion or acquisition financings and management buyouts.
ChinaVest's private equity group focuses on companies that typically have an enterprise value of US$25 million-$400 million and comprise key parts of China 's core economic growth engine. Consequently, our private equity practice concentrates on manufacturing businesses as well as opportunities in the distribution, logistics and services sectors.
ChinaVest's venture capital group focuses on early-stage and growth capital opportunities in China 's burgeoning life science and information technology industries. We focus on firms where we can both provide capital and also contribute to the firm's growth by leveraging our vast network of subject matter experts, advisors and other relationships.
On both traditional private equity as well as venture capital investments ChinaVest works closely with its portfolio companies to source add-on acquisition opportunities and to otherwise assist the company with growth initiatives.
Mezzanine Investing
ChinaVest invests in mezzanine securities in middle market Chinese companies as well as joint ventures. Types of mezzanine transactions include: growth capital, leveraged recapitalizations, management buyouts or other growth capital needs requiring mezzanine investments. Types of investment structures for the ChinaVest generally include debt and non-control equity participation. |
