Before joining ChinaVest, Mr. Bao was the founder and managing partner of PilotVest, a firm specializing in private placements for Chinese companies. His firm's deals spanned the media, technology, service and manufacturing sectors. Prior to that, he served as a director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press. Mr. Bao was also a co-founder of a sports consulting company in Shanghai focusing on auto racing.

Mr. Bao graduated from Hefei University of Technology, and holds a Masters Degree from Suzhou University. Mr. Bao also participated in China's first venture capitalist cultivation program organized by the China Venture Capital Research Institute and the World Economic Forum.
